The successful candidate will be part of the Inflight Services Department to strengthen collaborations with SIA Procurement teams and manage logistical operations through to SIA catering stations with support of the overseas catering officers and station managers. He/she will be responsible to delight customers through a strategic and comprehensive beverage programme that aims to position Singapore Airlines as the industry leader through:
1. A selection of highly curated, premium quality wines and champagnes; and
2. A selection of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages that promises quality and variety
Key Responsibilities:
Wine Consultant (WC) Programme
- Overall management of SIA WC programme which includes:
(1) Assist and execute the Wine Consultant events in Singapore or overseas
(2) Work with Consultants to identify categories of wines/alcohol to be tendered and evaluate the tender specifications in ensuring best outcome of purchase by our procurement team based on Inflight Services Department’s policy.
(3) Prepare and draft WC contracts in line with management direction, and in consultation with Legal and Taxation
(4) Manage all payments, reimbursements to WCs based on contractual requirements
(5) Liaise with WCs on all operational and promotional business requirements
Inflight Beverage Service Delivery
- Ensure wine menus are managed correctly, that right stock levels are maintained in SIN and overseas station in accordance with the pouring plan
- Review Cabin Crew Voyage Report (CCVR), Voice of Customers (VOC) results and passengers’ feedback and follow up or introduce corrective actions where necessary
- Support and liaise with Cabin Crew Service Development (CCSD) for crew surveys where necessary when introducing new procedures or products
- Maintenance of Wine Grids, beverage items and planning on the FABS system so that digital menus are up-to-date and accurate
- Ensure planning on FABS reflects changes of flight numbers/ aircraft types/ menu offerings
Promotion Activities
- Actively engage internal stakeholders from the various departments (Public Affairs, Brand Marketing, Overseas Stations, Loyalty Marketing, Priority Passenger Services) to regularly update changes to beverage programme
- Coordinate and support Inflight Services Department for internal education for Cabin Crew for existing and new products
- Coordinate and circulate information for station promotional events and menus which involve Beverage items
- Support any SIA events which involve the beverage programme (e.g. Virtual Masterclasses, product showcases)
Bond Inventory Management
- Forecast and manage bond budget
- Forecast requirements of bond inventory to ensure enough stocks in Singapore
- Oversee staff sale of Alcohol of obsolete or overstocked bond items
Requirements
- Possess a university bachelor's degree, with relevant experience in F&B/wine industry
Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) qualification will be advantageous- Knowledge of Wine Importation, Duty Free for Inflight and Duty Paid beverage requirements in Singapore and Internationally will be advantageous
- Good understanding of international wine and spirits – with specialty in the premium beverage segment
- Able to analyse data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
- Effective communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suites
- Ability to multi-task and cope with pressure under time constraints
